Maruti Alto is well-known as top leading selling car since its launch in 2000. Approximate 20.000 units are sold every month, this car has also achieved “The Largest Selling Small Car”. Maruti Alto is recorded as highest selling car in India with around 235,000 cars sold in a year, compete with Hyundai i10 as runner up.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited, manufacturing company of Alto, is planning to launch the latest model of Alto. The company said that Alto needs a face lift and combined with bigger engine with higher efficiency. This latest model is also low cost. Furthermore, it will be costlier than the existing Alto. The new Alto would come with two variants of the K series engines- 998cc three-cylinder, ‘K10B’ and a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder ‘K12M’ petrol engine. The K10B version is also included in A-Star, Estilo and the new WagonR, while the K12M is incorporated in Ritz, Swift and Swift Dzire.
As Maruti Suzuki is trying to reduce the price of Alto, they will not make any major changes in the car appearance. They will remain their successful design as saying by Maruti Suzuki top officials. Not only the cheap price, but also the low cost maintenance is one of the benefits for having this car. They have cheaper spare parts compared to others cars at average. Or you want to purchase more expensive Hyundai Verna than this Maruti. It is up to you.
